Everest Cup

Sherpa Football Club (Sherpa FC) from Wellington has been conducting social football and other sporting events uniting Nepali youths and adults to encourage physical activities, social causes and networking since 2015.

In 2020, Sherpa FC successfully hosted the Everest Cup 2020 for the first time. This year, the club is yet again embarking on a journey of hosting the third edition of Everest Cup 2023 with participation from individuals and teams across New Zealand.

This year Gurkha FC has been awarded to host Everest Cup 2023.

The Everest Cup 2023 is scheduled over two days as follows:

– 23 September: Everest Cup round-robin matches

– 24 September: Everest Cup knock-out matches (Semi-finals and final)

Why we need your support?

To promote Nepali talent

Nepal boasts a rich pool of talented football players, but the lack of proper platforms and infrastructure limits their exposure. Organizing a football tournament can provide a stage for these talented individuals to showcase their skills and gain recognition.

Encouraging Youth Participation:

Football tournaments inspire youth participation and promote a healthy and active lifestyle. By supporting the organization of a tournament, we encourage young boys and girls to engage in sports and outdoor activities, diverting their attention from less constructive pursuits.

Strengthening Community Bonds: A football tournament acts as a catalyst for bringing communities together. It transcends social and cultural barriers, fostering unity and promoting understanding among diverse groups.
